Using a whole house approach, we create a prioritized list of recommendations that will allow you to make an informed decision about upgrading the energy efficiency your home. Importantly, we are an audit service only – we do not offer to perform any work for you. We are your advocate in the process of updating the energy efficiency of your home.

After inspecting and collecting data at your home, we use Building Performance Institute (BPI) standards and computer modeling to recommend which improvements will cause the biggest reduction in your monthly heating and cooling bills and make your home more comfortable. When you are ready to go forward with your improvements, KGE can refer you to the best home performance contractors in the Charlottesville/Albemarle VA area for your unique project. After your project is complete, we will perform a final inspection called a Test Out to verify your improvements and measure your home’s air leakage reduction so you’ll have before and after numbers and you’ll know that your home is not too tight.
